Khmer Lessons with Polly Woodbury

Learn Khmer language by taking private lessons from Polly Woodbury. Polly is available for small group and one-on-one instruction for learners of all levels.

Biography

Polly Woodbury is a graduate of the Master of Social Work and Master of Public Health (Global Health) dual degree program at the University of Washington. She also earned the International Development Certificate with a focus on Cambodia, and was a Foriegn Language and Area Studies fellow through the U.S. Dept. of Education for two consecutive years with a specialization in Southeast Asian area studies and advanced Khmer (Cambodian language). In 2015-2016, Polly was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Fellowship to teach English in rural Thailand.

Polly is a Khmer-American who has lived, worked, researched, and traveled in Cambodia on and off for five years. As a native to Tacoma, Polly is active in the Khmer-American community in the Puget-Sound area which is the third largest in the U.S. Locally, she has volunteered with organizing the first state-wide Cambodian community puluck in Washington, helped with census outreach to the Khmer community, assisted in Southeast Asian student retention programs at the University of Washington, and more. Polly loves the Cambodian culture and is looking forward to promoting Khmer with future language learners.
