HU Accelerate

The HU Accelerate program is the fastest route we offer to earn your Master in Teaching. This is an alternate route (4) to teacher preparation for Washington state. It allows you to earn your degree in 11 months while working as a paid full-time teacher. The program is challenging, but upon completion you will graduate with your Master in Teaching degree and be prepared to certify in Elementary Education with an additional endorsement in either Special Education, Bilingual Education or English Language Learners. This program starts every June with prerequisite testing requirements.

HU Residency

This is an alternate route (3) to teacher preparation for Washington state. This program partners you with a core teacher in a classroom from September through May. This residency experience gives you a year of classroom experience as a mentored resident intern (student teacher). It allows you to earn your degree in 11 months while working side by side with peers and an experienced classroom instructor in a K-8 classroom three days a week. The other days during the week you would have the opportunity to be paid as a para educator or substitute teacher. Upon completion, you will earn your Master in Teaching degree and be prepared to certify in Elementary Education with an additional endorsement in either Special Education, Bilingual Education or English Language Learners. This program starts every June with prerequisite testing requirements.
